Ingredients
300 piece tuna sliced into 1 cm thick steak
1/4 cup sesame seeds
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons bran oil or olive oil
1 carrot, peeled and grated
1 parsnip, peeled and grated
1 spring onion finely sliced
1/2 green bell pepper finely juliened
1/2 red bell pepper finely juliened
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
1/2 vanilla pod, split and seeds removed
2-3 teaspoons sugar
Brush the tuna with the oil and press into the sesame seeds so that it forms a crust. Set aside. In a bowl, add the parsnip, carrot, spring onion and bell pepper. Toss to combine. In a seperate bowl combine the sour crea, vinegar, vanilla pod and seeds and whisk to combine. Taste and add sugar to taste.
Heat the bran oil in a pan and when hot add the sesame crusted tuna. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for about 1 minute then turn over and cook for another minute. Remove from the heat and transfer to a plate.
Mound the slaw on the plate, drizzle with the dressing and serve.
